Over all the car is pretty good. It was my first car, and brand new there are just a few things I would change.

  • The Amazing SportTrac - 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac

This is the the best vehical. I take it 4 wheelin daily and it works great. The only down side is the gas tank is huge so it takes about $30 to fill it up.

  • My First New Vehicle - 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac

I love this Sport Trac even after 5 years. It is very comfortable in the front and back seats and I still think it is the sharpest looking truck on the road. It also has plenty of power for me. The ride has some choppiness and side to side rock that I dont like. I have had no maintenance yet.

  • Cant Be Trusted In The Heat of the Day - 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac

Over the past two years, my 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac seems to get vapor lock in the summer. But it doesnt happen all the time. When it happens, Ill take it into the dealer, but the service team cant duplicate the problem. What happens (sometimes) is that Ill drive it to the store (maybe 6 miles), turn it off and shop for maybe 10 minutes. When I return to the vehicle and start it, it will sometimes not start, or, if it starts, it wont let me go over 20 mph. I had the fuel pump replaced in March (its now June) and that seemed to help. But the other day, out of the blue, it happened again! We also had a new fuel filter installed last March as well. Why does this happen?

  • Its just what I wanted - 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac

My experience with Ford Sport Trac has been one of the best experiences I have had in my life. I drive it often, even on trips. I have had no problems other than normal maintenance. It is what I needed. Living in the country area I needed 4X4, wanted no carpet and be able to carry my grandkids. It does it all, and since I am retired I just have small jobs for the yard and such and the bed it just perfect, you dont have to worry about the bed scratches and the tie down would allow you to carry a lot more than you think. My wife loves it and has no problem getting to and back from work in the snow, and we can go out in the field with no problems.

  • Love the Sport Trac - 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac

Love my Sport Trac. I am always getting comments from people about how cool it looks. runs great, looks sharp, very utilitarian. all of the options are very usefull. If you do buy one, get all of the options, hard tonneau cover, bed extender, step bars, fog lights, etc.

  • Extreme disappointment - 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac

I have had nothing but problems with the vehicle performance. I am sure I was sold a lemon. I love the looks of the Sport Trac, but the rest of the vehicle is another story. Very hard idling, almost stalling, sputtering down the road, malfunctioning windows, turn signals and seat belts. Hope all of you have better luck than I.

  • Good mix - 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac
    By -

Purchased originally as a second car for practical reasons, the Sport Trac won me over immediately and despite the poor mileage, I commute with this vehicle more often than not. The pickup bed is great for all but the largest loads and the soft cover makes accomodating the bigger loads much easier. The vehicle manages to transport a group of four very comfortablly, even with a full load. While the relatively narrow wheel base make quick lane changes and sharp turns illadvised, the smooth quiet ride and the advantages of the on-the-fly 4x4 more than make up for this. All in all, a great mix of comfort and practicality
